New Emergences

About / Contact / Friends

New Emergences foundation is a platform focusing on gender equality in electronic music and sound art, advocating diversity by highlighting the presence and absence of women, LGBTQ+ communities, and all under-represented voices.

NE organizes a discussion series, a concert series, and numerous activities such as workshops, podcasts, and online publications. The foundation also provides advice through consultation and promotion of its affiliated network.

The New Emergences foundation is based in the Netherlands and consists of a group of composers, improvisers, performers, and researchers working in the field of electronic music and sound art. It is part of an engaged music and art community which embodies the notion of grassroots activism that desires the honest, the curious, and the provocative.

NEWS / We are delighted to announce that we have just received a €7,500 start-up subsidy from Stimuleringsfonds, NL for a two year period. This grant will enable us to continue our work, a little easier and to keep striving for diverse discussions, and to invite brilliant keynote speakers and panel guests.

We are also able to think a little more clearly how best to move forward with the organization. As volunteers, we hope to continue nurturing a Safe Space for the importance of listening and talking together. Thank you, from us all on the NE team, for supporting us thus far, and to all who have helped bring the discussion to the table. We are forever grateful, and we ask that you keep in touch, and let us know your thoughts.
