Explore the rich themes of AND Festival related to water, industry, global trade and the intersection between climate change and feminism, and join us for an evening programme of music, sound art and digital interventions.

Utilising the iconic Mersey Ferry as an instrument, Ferrytones will be a sonic and theatrical environment, meshing together the vessel with its surroundings, creating an immersive and interactive occurrence. The plotted course will take travellers to parts of the river not usually ventured to, this will not be your typical ‘Ferry ‘Cross the Mersey’.

A platform for amplifying underrepresented voices, Dutch Collective New Emergences will curate Ferrytones with a desire to motivate the audience to question themselves and their environment and to contribute towards the reshaping of toxic experiences and realities into functioning cultural discourses.

Departure: from Pier Head, Liverpool

Check back soon for the reveal of the full Ferrytones programme.

Ferrytones: Stories of the Hinterland is commissioned and produced by Abandon Normal Devices, curated by New Emergences. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England, Creative Industries Fund Netherlands and Liverpool City Council as part of RISE 2020, with further support from Merseytravel.
