About the Artists

Christine Cornwell is a producer, violinist, and improviser. She welcomes new connections with collectives and initiatives who are searching for sustainable practises and connections to local and artistic community.

Christine is the co-founder of both Streetview Collective (Amsterdam), and ArtBreak (Rotterdam), an associate composer at Stan’s Cafe Theater Company (Birmingham, UK) and is employed as a creative producer and guest teacher at Codarts (Rotterdam).

Las Hienas was formed in 2023 as a countermovement to the male-dominated music scene, challenging discrimination against women and LGBTQIA+ people. They made their debut on International Women’s Day 2023, performing a powerful concert featuring only songs written by women. What began as an activist project has grown into a unique and groundbreaking Latin band made up of eight women, featuring a virtuosic horn and viola section, soulful vocals, and a groovy rhythm section.

Their repertoire spans a wide range of styles.
In their original compositions, they experiment by blending different genres, pushing boundaries, and creating fresh sounds within the Latin music scene.
